Environmental Studies

The Master of Science in environmental studies is an interdisciplinary program of graduate coursework and research. The program meets the needs of students looking for a broader academic experience than a traditional course of study can provide. Students gain valuable real-world experience as a result of the partnership between the Voinovich School and the Environmental Studies Program. The partnership enables students to work with agencies such as the Midwest Biodiversity Institute, the Center for Applied Bioassessment and Biocriteria, the U.S. Forest Service, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.

The Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Environmental Studies Certificate supplements existing majors with an interdisciplinary study of the biophysical environment and the complex interactions between humans, other organisms, and the environment. The program is open to students in any major, but it is especially relevant for educators and those seeking environmentally related careers in government, business, law, and consulting firms.
